What is "Quiescent Current"?

Quiescent current is "off load" current. This is current the converter takes when the load is not connected. It is important that this is low to prevent draining the vehicles battery or to avoid having to fit a remote switch to turn the converter off when not in use. All PowerVerters have an off load current of less than 10mA, which is probably less than the internal leakage current of the battery, so it can be ignored. Fit and forget.
